Terri Shaw:
Dr. Shaw is a clinical and educational Audiologist, currently integrating both roles in the NJ school system and at Montclair State University as a Clinical Instructor and Adjunct Professor.  She previously served as a Senior Clinical Audiologist, Supervisor, and Associate Professor of Otolaryngology at New York University Medical Center. 

Jordan McNair:
Jordan McNair, AuD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Miami, with a secondary appointment in Pediatrics. He is a clinical pediatric audiologist and currently serves as the Clinical Extern Coordinator for the Division of Audiology. Originally from Ohio, Dr. McNair was drawn to the University of Miami to complete a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Miami Ear Institute. His positive experiences with the UM faculty during that time sparked a passion for clinical education.

Dedicated to shaping the next generation of audiologists, Dr. McNair encourages students to become future leaders and educators in the field. His personal mission is to promote diversity within audiology and to show aspiring audiologists that there is no one-size-fits-all mold for being an exceptional clinician and educator.

Abstract:  
Cochlear implants and hearing aids function in a different capacity for those with hearing loss, but they can work together as a bimodal hearing solution.  The presentation addresses the growing number of bimodal patients, both pediatric and adult populations, and the unique capabilities and concerns inherent to listening and learning with different instruments coupled to each ear. 

Learner Outcomes:
After completing this course, participants will be able to:

1. Broadly identify candidacy for a hearing aid and/or cochlear implant hearing loss solution.
2. Identify specific listening and learning needs for the bimodal pediatric population. 
3. Describe common successes and challenges within the bimodal population.

 Satisfactory Completion Requirements: Certificates of completion will be awarded after active attendance at the entire presentation, submission of a completed evaluation and submission of a completed assessment of learning. A link to the online assessment and evaluation will be provided.
